21/VII/24 - 25cl bottle from … Don’t remember, possibly even the brewery in Dansaert (BXL), shared @ Bouvier’s place, BB: n/a, bottled: 11/I/19 (2024-560)

Clear orange blond beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty peated, smoky, bourbon my ass, this is peated whisky! More smoky notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet and sugary, pretty darn peated, quite some alcohol, soft roast, some chocolate. Aftertaste: more peat, sweet, sugary, coffee, some caramel, meh.

On tap at BBP - Paris, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out the barrels, which come across fairly smoky and peaty, with traces of vanilla. Flavour is a smoky peat bomb, with some real harshness to it. Seems the base beer wasn't all that great or the barrels don't contribute nicely to it. Harsh but drinkable in small amounts.

Oh God! It’s another of that abomination style, White Stout! At least this one is barrel aged. Hazy orange amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, a light creamy sweetness. Some bitterish wood. Soft fruity bourbon, ripe citrus peel. Little lemon peel before a light but slightly spicy finish. The absolutely to be expected White Stout clunk is somewhat offset by decent barrelling, but barrelling can only do so much to a fundamentally clunky jump the shark style.

Very cloudy dark orange. Hmm. Lots of vanilla and cookie dough Aroma. Cake. Vanilla. Coconut. Taste. A bit of a let down compare to the aroma but there is a joyous vanilla finish. It’s sweet like a macaroon cookie. A little bit of citrus

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Translucent deep golden pour with fine fluffy head. Aroma is very unusual - huge sort of Pilsner malt, whiskey, wood, caramel, smoke, almost like bbq. Taste is smoky wood, big earthy bitterness, chewy chocolate-meatiness, but in a good way, as weird as that sounds. “Stoutness” is not immediately apparent, but you can see what they’re going for, and it works. Would try again I think. Not as heavy as you’d think, but maybe that’s just the color tricking me.

25cl bouteille de BBP Taproom. BB , hand-bottled on 11/01/2019. Dorée-or, col fin blanc-cassé.

10/02/2019 @home - 25cl bottle from the brewery. Clear orange, nice white head. Nose is malts, leathery. Taste is malts, white chocolate, bit smoke, lots of leather. Sticky sweetness from the regular version is gone; Il liked this very much.
