Brughopper is een blonde Ale - Belgian blonde van 5,5% . Een hoppig, blond bier van hoge gisting met een aangenaam citrus-aroma en licht bittere nasmaak. Op Amerikaanse stijl gebaseerd, maar door toevoeging van Poperingse hoppe krijgt het een kenmerkend Belgisch tintje. Mede door het bewust laag gehouden alcohol-gehalte, is het een frisse doordrinker. De basis is pilsmout. Gezien het toenemend negatief imago van overdreven alcoholverbruik, zijn laag alcoholische bieren zeker de toekomst. Het bier dankt zijn naam aan de hoparoma’s en aan Chiro Brug van Zelzate

Aroma has hay, peaches and some fruits. Flavour has gooseberry bush leaves, bitter grassy notes and some herbs. Slightly messy but ok.

Bottled@HBF2014 (thanks to VastActiv for the sampler). Slightly hazy orangeish golden colour with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is some floral and dusty notes along with some toffee and mild yeastiness. Flavour is spices, very sugary, mildly zesty and some yeasty notes. This one felt a bit fresh on bottle, so I’m not sure if aging would balance this out a bit from all the directions it was now heading in.

Thanks. Sampled @ ZBF 2014. Clear lemon golden with zero head. Smells of soap, cheap chemical and fizzy lemonade citrus. Taste is likewise plus medicinal notes. Fizzy. Eh….

Good dense, slightly yellowish head over pale orange-golden beer. Cardboard, dry, as well as toasted malts, dusty nose. Slightly spicy (pepper, coriander), white candi sugar, fake citrus. Bitterish-spicy taste, with citrus, coriander, herbs, and a lot of yeastesters. Watered-down Cynar, or something similar. Retronasal slighlty earthy. Warming up, the finish gets better, in the way of hoppy, thankfully. Light body, well-carbonated to spritzy, faintly burning MF. Oh well...

Clear light orange beer, lots of small specks floating round in the beer, under a big frothy irregular white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus, grapefruit, bit floral, soapy, hint of banana, later on some white candi sugar when warming up. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of citrus, bit sourish, soapy bitterness, bit grassy, grapefruit touch. Aftertaste: lemony, bit sour, sweet and a bit sugary, green banana, metallic touch, grassy hops, bit soapy, lemony, acidic touch.
