Scrumpy is an old English term for a farmhouse cider. Ours is made simply from the organic apples with their naturally occurring wild yeast, grown in our orchards. The same orchards that have been in our family for over 150 years.
This original estate cider has a fresh and juicy apple aroma and leaves a crisp and clean finish.

Bottles of various vintages, 2010 and onwards.
Large-bubbled bright gold body sports a moderate, but somewhat fizzy white head that recedes quickly to the edges. I guess I’ll just state right away that the head/carbonation speaks to my biggest complaint with this cider; the lack of carbonation. I think if these guys would not pasteurize this stuff, it would be one of the best there is. As is, it’s still a delightfully flavorful, full-bodied yet crisp, drinkable American cider. Very light lactic notes dance on the edges of the palate, with deep, juicy apple flavors and a mild but refreshing tartness.
It’s odd, especially, that they pasteurize this, given that they aren’t filtering it. I dont think the carbonation has long enough to develop, and it further inhibits any funky flavors. Anyways, enough harping about that, though I do think it leads to more looseness/wateriness in the mouthfeel and more susceptibility to oxidation. Great stuff, nonetheless, perhaps a touch too sweet.

Golden orange, slight haze, thin bubbly head that dissipates
Aroma - sweet natural apple nose, sweet and juicy, fairly intense, really like real sweet apples
Taste - juicy sweet apples, freshly squeezed apple, so juicy, no harsh bitterness, no harsh acidity - not much else but the apple flavour is great.
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body, slightly oily. Sweet palate. Finish has no astringency like other ciders, sweet juicy apple, great.
Overall - The sweetness does start to build up to be a bit much if you go through a whole bottle, but it is a great tasting cider so it’s best to share. It’s not complex but has such a good apple taste. I really enjoyed this - tastes far more of apple than UK ciders

Refrigerated bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours beautiful translucent golden, no head, no lacing, no carbonation, and light tart apple aroma. Taste is semi-sweet rich apple. Nice rich apple, better as it warms, but a little carbonation might of helped.
