Malt and hops are beautifully married in this full-bodied, copper-red Pale Ale. Red Seal is generously hopped for a long, spicy finish. An excellent accompaniment to grilled meats and rich sauces.

Can’t believe this is my first rating remembering the early 2000/ when this was craft at its best. Pours clear sunset orange with off white head. Aroma is bready caramel. Flavor is rather rich malt with a bit of a bitter spike at the end and quick finish. Sweetness retains. Craft has certainly changed, but this was always fun to drink back in the day. I even had a pint at the brewery in 2009 on a one-night road trip between jobs. This 6-pack today was bought by my wife so she could use one bottle for a chili cook-off! Maybe a bit of a bump in score for nostalgia.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 19A). Bottle 35 cl - Batch undeclared (BB: undeclared). AROMA: medium-low hop aroma (notes of pine, slight melon) with a medium malt background (caramel-like). APPARANCE: amber to light amber color with fine particles in suspension. medium ivory head, creamy, with good retention. TASTE: medium-high hop flavor (pine, some melon) followed by medium-low malt character (slight caramel). medium-high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a nice american amber ale.

Old rating from 23-02-15 - 355ml bottle properly titled Ruedrich's Red Seal Ale. Pours a dark amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, pine, biscuit, nuts & hints of spice. Both malty & hoppy unusual for a red pale ale. Medium body & well balanced. Smooth medium bitter finish. Enjoyable

Draft at ginger man. Pours brownish red with a mild head. Smell and taste is hopppy. OK but unspectacular IMO.

Bottle at home. Aroma of biscuity malt, caramel, piney resinous notes, fruits, earthy notes, hint of herbs, soft hops. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Pretty decent malty earthy APA, but nothing spectacular.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Great version from an Antwerp classic beer, amber coloured and great finish by the American Hops.

On tap. Pours a copper color with moderate head. Aromas of lemon florals and toasted malts. Flavors of homebrew ale heavy on malts and bittering hops. Poor.
