Tap at Popeye. Dark brown, small golden head, soon goes. Aroma, some roast, bit coffee, not so much hoppiness, just bitter from coffee. Taste initial hop hit, grassy hops, quite full on, some grapefruit too. Fades a but further down and get some fruitiness and something floral. Parma violet element with bitter dark choc. Not bad.

Keg at Popeye - Tokyo. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Nice burnt pine aroma, moderate roast, baking cocoa. Light-medium sweet flavour with a little ash, orange peel, more bitter chocolate, roast, pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Well balanced finish, more baking cocoa, adequate toasted malts, mild ash, aged citrus. Solid overall.

On tap at Bakushu Club Popeye, Tokyo. Hazy dark, dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with dark fruits, chocolate, pine and hints of citrus. Moderate to medium sweet, fairly mild flavours, but balanced between the hoppy and roasty ones. Not the most memorable, but a tasty and easy to drink BIPA.

Draught at Popeye. Very hoppy nose--American hops, with grass and citrus, also chocolate, caramel and a nice dark malt background. Very hoppy flavor with nice earthiness and roasty malts. Chocolate and coffee work with extreme bitterness. Good.

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Very dark brown, no head. Grapefruity nose. Dryish with clean mouthfeel. Crystal malt barely covered in licorice with citric hops driving it towards a mid-bitter finish.
