DBA—a.k.a. Double Barrel Ale—is the trailblazing flagship beer that started it all for us back in 1996. Partially fermented in our patented Firestone Union oak-‐barrel brewing system, DBA quickly took the Central Coast by storm and set the pace for future beers to come. Today, DBA is regarded as a California classic, and stands as an iconic tribute to traditional cask-‐fermented English ales. Pale malts create a smooth middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee and toasted oak.

35cl Fles van Beer Republic. Helder amber kleur, witte kraag. Caramel, vanille, iets grassig, hint van eikenhout, licht bloemig, iets wrang in de bittere finish. Lichte body. Prima doordrinker.

Almost orange yellow and its clear. Big foaming head want to crest over the side. Taste is rather strong personality. Nose is a little boozy. In the middle it takes on more effective personality. Its a stranger, certainly feels like more than 5% to mee - fersher. A little creamy at times. Tends to get a little mouthcoating and leathery near the end. Finally, in the finish I seem to catch a little bit of euphoria. Taste remains strong and almost annoying n a non IPA hop kindah way.

Bottle, 0.355l. Aroma is bready, woody, grassy and dried fruity. Pours clear brown amber color with thin frothy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet caramelly and grassy, following is dried fruity and woody, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Nice one…

Taster at gfs place, courtesy of Sander, big thanks. amber clear color, small white head. smells earthy, grassy, tobacco, toffee, bit grainy, light spices, subtle sweetness. nice smell. medium body, soft carbonation. tastes citric, grassy, earthy, tobacco, bit peppery, light forest strawberries. finishes light to medium bitter with notes of grass, tobaccco and some peppery notes. quite nice one, quite good balance, smooth to drink. usually this lower ABV beers dont survive to trip over the pond that well, but this is very good. nice stuff.

Bottle from Beer Republic webshop, Breda Netherlands and consumed at home Saturday 24th April 2021 listening to the new Dinosaur Jr album - Sweep it into Space we have a 'Chilli competition' for for tea, we are both cooking our own chillies. Pours copper in colour with a white head. Wow this is a classic in every sense of the word. They went for an English style and completely nailed it. Great English hoppiness, light bitter touches, , light fruity, sweet initially but then dry finish, clean, solid characteristics. Great beer.

Dark golden colour with lasting creamy head. Aroma and flavour are packed with malts. Really full bodied. Like an English Premium Bitter.
