DBA—a.k.a. Double Barrel Ale—is the trailblazing flagship beer that started it all for us back in 1996. Partially fermented in our patented Firestone Union oak-‐barrel brewing system, DBA quickly took the Central Coast by storm and set the pace for future beers to come. Today, DBA is regarded as a California classic, and stands as an iconic tribute to traditional cask-‐fermented English ales. Pale malts create a smooth middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee and toasted oak.

Can from AEON liquors. Drank straight from the can. Aromas of grass, astringent toffee and herbal notes. As it warms up a big of woodsy oak I suppose. Scratchy carbonation on the palate. More grass and burned toffee. Bitter finish with light fruit. Refreshing and feels light though. Very lager-like in mouthfeel and nose to me. --- Beer merged from original tick of DBA (Double Barrel Ale) on 25 May 2016 at 18:56 - Score: 6. Original review text: Light caramel, grassy hops. Above average carbonation. MAyne some light oak. Not my style but ok.

Pint at an applebee´s in Camarillo, CA. Clear amber in the glass, fine small light beige head. Decent malty on the nose. Taste starts malty, light toasted, little bit fruity. Followed by a hopy sequence, with some citrus. Malty aftertaste. Fresh and easy to drink.

Bottle from Total Wine, Sterling VA. Deep amber, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweet, caramel malts, some hedgerow fruits, oily hops and a semi-bitter finish. A bit heavy going, but ok.
