DBA—a.k.a. Double Barrel Ale—is the trailblazing flagship beer that started it all for us back in 1996. Partially fermented in our patented Firestone Union oak-‐barrel brewing system, DBA quickly took the Central Coast by storm and set the pace for future beers to come. Today, DBA is regarded as a California classic, and stands as an iconic tribute to traditional cask-‐fermented English ales. Pale malts create a smooth middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee and toasted oak.

Purchased at Trader Joe in Vegas. Pours an amber colour with a warm cap and decent lacing. Hoppy fresh grass aromas with fruity malts. Fruity malts taste as well with some nice grain, middle bitterness and caramel. This is quite a nice fruity, but not over-the-top ale.

Bottle pour into pint glass from The Drinkery, Londonderry, NH. Aroma is yeasty dough over bready malt, caramel, vanilla--a little unfinished smelling (like wert). Appearance is hazy orange-brown with less than finger-width head, decent sparkle and lacing. Taste is caramel, bready moderate sweetness with tinge of oak. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture and carbonation slightly on the lively side. Finish is sweet with a bit of oakiness. Overall, a decent beer. A bit on the old side so may not be the best rating.

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is a buttery English style malt and not much else. Flavor is full of decent earthly and bready pale malt. Finish is pretty watery but nice malt profile. Nothing spectacular for Firestone but this is a pretty decent English style beer.

On tap. Pours a dark copper with light head. Aromas of brown sugar and tasted malts. Flavors of dried caramel, grass, and very light oak. Light bitter finish. Nice for the style but a bit boring.

From the taproom. Orange color with small head. Some old world hops in the aroma. Toffee, some vanilla, mild and light, with still quite a full body! Nice!

From a 355ml bottle on 30/5/2015. Pours a slighty cloudy deep golden with a small head. Has a light toffee/caramel malt aroma. Taste wise, it’s all toffee, butterscotch and caramel malt finished off by a modest bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Okay but a bit one dimensional. Don’t get the oak.

Firestone dba bottle from woori super for most likely too much money. Brewed in sept. 2014. Pouring a dark amber with a thick foamy beige head.  It’s got a nice biscuity malt forward nose. Nice crisp clean lightly bitter maltiness. Tasty everyday type beer.

Draught. Rich amber color with very small off white foamy head, slight caramel aroma, low carbonation, roasted malt taste, thin body, abrupt finish, More like a bitter than an ESB.
