Location: 22 oz bottle, 2/21/14
Aroma: The nose has some citrus rind, plenty of spice, and lots of yeast
Appearance: It pours a murky golden-orange color with a large, frothy, white head
Flavor: The taste is mildly sweet, fruity, with a medium-plus spice, and a yeasty finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, smooth, creamy, easy to drink, and with a clean, dry finish
Overall Impression: This one isn't top-of-style, but it is smooth and easy drinking with a nice mix of citrus, spice, and yeast flavors. I don't have any complaints. Another worthwhile offering from the 100 Barrel Series.

Bottle. Poured a clear, yellow color without much of a head to speak of. Aroma has some notes of light pepper, some notes. Flavor was spicy yeast notes. Okay.

On tap at Iron Horse. Pours a clear gold with some creamy white head. Nose has a lot of spice, bubblegum, clove, some candy. Flavor is sweet, lots of yeasty esters, no real hop to speak of. Sweet finish.

Draft. Cloudy golden amber color, small but thick white head. There is a bit of funk to this, and some barnyard. Not bad.

Growler from Ale Yeah! Light gold, with a small, beige head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is light lemon zest, biscuit dough, cut grass, and coriander. The flavor is very sweet, with a good, citrusy tartness, and a mild, but not unwelcome, hop bitterness. Light to medium body, a little sticky and acidic, and with a light carbonation. Overall, this is a nice, balanced, and supremely drinkable saison.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 11/15/2013. Pours moderately cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger very foamy white head with poor retention, that reduces to a thin ring of lace. No clinging lacing and some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, grape, banana, coriander, clove, peppercorn, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, grass, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of yeast ester, malt, and spice notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, clove, peppercorn, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus, light fruits, coriander, clove, peppercorn, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of malt, yeast, and spice flavors; with a great fruity/spiciness balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately prickly mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good saison style. Nice balance and complexity of malt, yeast ester, and spice flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared at Sander’s place in NYC. Pours mostly clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Some crispy hay in the nose, a bit of wheat, yeast. Light sweet flavor, some grainy pale malts, lemon rind, hay. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Light sweet finish, some husky grains, dirty hay, bitter lemon rind. Not bad.
