Tap at Popeye. Amber colour, cloudy and with not much head. Aroma is hoppy, but cat pee, bit pine. Taste is nice and bitter, and with quite a lot of grapefruit and a touch of orange. Nice texture, and pleasantly fizzy in the mouth. Bitter finish which soon fades. Nice. Rerate: 11/10/13 Amber coloured small head. Aroma is quite malty, bit of cat pee hops, touch of citrus. Taste is similar. It's what you would expect. Hoppy bitterness. Malty body. Initial citrus. Tastes a bit like sweets. Alright but not exciting.

Tap @ Furusatomatsuri (18.01.2019). Pours darker orange, maybe even a bit amber, clear and looks clean, some foam on the top. Nose has a bit of malts and hop freshness and fruitiness. Not too special. Taste is fresh and packed with hop flavours and hop oils. Medium bitterness, feels very clean and has some malts for the base, still mainly hops determining the taste. Light resiny bitter linger in the finish. 7.3.8.4.16

Tap at Aldgate. Grassy, citrus and woody pine nose. Raspy carbonation on the palate with some light prickliness. Finishes bitter and dry. Enjoyable IPA.Earlier Rating: 3/17/2015 Total Score: 3Re-rate: Tap at crafthands. Pretty mudane and one-dimensional but not bad. Very British and boring. On tap at Pub Edo. Copper with a big foamy off-white head. Piney and resiny hop aromas with a nice biscuity toffee nose as well. Perfectly well-balanced...almost to a fault. Average carbonation and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Medium body. Biscuit and caramel malts become more prominent as it warms up. Nice bitter finish. Solid IPA. --- Beer merged from original tick of Swan Lake IPA on 10 Dec 2015 at 20:36 - Score: 6

Poured into a tall shaker showing dark honey gold with no head. The nose barely shows very subtle tropical fruit-like hops. The palate is moderately carbonated and medium bodied. The palate is clean and refreshing with barely perceivable tropical fruit notes and a strong bitterness on the finish.

On tap at molto. Pours out a cloudy copper topped with a nice head. Nose is pine citrus hops and a nice cereal malt. Taste is more of the hop mix and nice mellow malty sweetness.

On tap at Bungalow, 600 yen 10oz, 7%. A slightly cloudy orange gold with a good head of foam. A nice pine aroma with some dankness, definitely west coast hops. The flavor is bitter, pine, grapefruits, grapes, quite fruity & with a dry finish. Tasty stuff, a solid IPA. I am glad to see these guys diversifying into new styles & making a good show of it too.

Cask@ Popeyes, Oct 2009. Cloudy amber. Flat head and not too bubbly of course. Plenty of hops, chinook Zeus? He said. Chewy body. Agressive hop stickyness. Quite American but with a better body.

Very well balanced IPA. Crisp hops that don’t overpower. Malty, which is important. Rather refreshing. I didn’t think the bitterness lingered all that long, but I had been drinking homebrew a while before I drank this one so maybe my palate was destroyed by then. Good- I’d order it again.

2009 version, draught at Barley. Huge, great, floral hops all around. Multi-layered hop flavors. Good fruity flavor, with caramel and a nicely bitter finish. Sweet and fruit, great flavor. A bit too sweet, getting a bit candy-ish and less impressive with time, but still one of the best IPAs in this country. Bottle 2008: 8/4/8/3/16 Powerful hop aroma, with citrus and pine, and some underlying earthy amber malts. Cloudy, deep amber-orange color with a medium, frothy head. Rich malt flavor, caramel, dark fruits, alcohol, a touch of chocolate, plus, again, huge hops. Hops are citrusy, with strong bitterness and flowery fragrance. Hoppy, bitter finish with alcohol and earthy caramel malts. Very well done, flavorful, powerful, balanced.
