Flaska från liquorstore i Kyoto. Smak och doft av malt, choklad, soja, jäst, brödig med torkad frukt och rostade toner. Smakrik, fadd, torr med lätt chokladbitterbeska.

2012 rating - Bottle 298 yen from Liquor Mountain, 4% but it packs a lot of flavor, rich coffee & roast notes with an easy drinkability.

Picked this up on my travels through Kyoto. Black as oil with a tan head. Chocolate, roasted malts, sour, vegetal, with light vanilla. I’m torn on the aroma- it’s almost really nice, but that vegetal note kills it, IMO. Slightly sweet malts, molasses, cocoa, that sourness comes back. Medium body. On the verge of being a good stout, but it defeats itself.

Bottle from Liquor Mountain. Pitch black with a tall tan head, shiny and lovely. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, yeast, and some thing slightly osur and vegetal. Medium sweet flavor, with chocolate, a touch of coffee, some sour flavors. Not exactly sure of itself. Sweet and sour finish. A bit too sour. Nice palate, though.
