Old rating from 15-01-16 - A 750ml bottle picked up in Northern France on a recent trip to Belgium. 9.5% alc. vol. Pours a clear golden copper colour with a foamy head. Aromas of fruit, yeast & alcohol. Taste is sweet, fruity, hoppy, yeasty with sighs of the alcohol content & mild bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso viene attratto dal fruttato. La finezza olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Il colore è ramato. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è nella media. La forza gustativa è elevata e permane in modo sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di caramello, miele, frutta secca, pane tostato, erbaceo, agrumi, mela, erbe aromatiche e frutta passita.

AROMA: medium-high fruity esters aroma with notes of candied pear, ripe oranges, slight clove and a medium-low peppery alcohol. medium-low sweet-malty background with a very faint toffee note. APPEARANCE: deep gold to light copper color and cristal clear. medium-large ivory head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium-low fruity esters (candied pear, ripe oranges), followed by a medium-low sweet-malty background (toffee to light caramel). medium-low hop bitterness with a dry and slightly bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with medium-high carbonation. smooth alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a nice triple-like french biere de garde.
