Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, mocha, liquorice, dark chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate to medium roasty bitter. Body is medium, bit creamy. Lovely and very easily drinkable Porter, balanced and smooth brew.

Good foam, the usual dirty oil that I used to drain from my ‘86 Camaro. You say that, but years of sitting under that thing watching that pitch pour into a plastic basin and you remember it. And the look of the eco-weenie neighbours as you poured it down the storm drain... but I digress. This reeks of sharp espresso, roasted coffee, sweet Aunt Jemima chocolate syrup. Approaching ascendancy yet fallin short, in the ballpark but not yet a superstar. Flavour is big crisp chocolate cake, layered and attentive with that Belgian chocolate you rarely get outside Brussels. Crisp finish, dry even, smart despite so much power on the front end. This is pretty good, possibly great. Yet I would have to defer to another oil change in my old Camaro to know for certain, and alas it has drifted on.... to the winds... of change.....

500ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately, minimally vinous and oaky, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, hints of blue grapes, dark berries, bramble, blueberry etc. Taste is chocolately dark malty, slightly roasty, notes of dark chocolate, chocolate sauce, a touch of liquorice, fruity hints of dark berries, bramble, blueberry,; minimal signs of oxidation in the finish, i.e. a metallic and papery cardboard touch.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (10/05/2016) - pours black with a beige head. Aroma and taste is roasted malty, with chocolate, coffee, caramel, cocoa, liquorice, solid hoppy backing, light vanilla nuance running through, good rich mouthfeel, great complexity, gorgeous.
