As a brewery, we haven’t been brewing lagers for a while. This or that has kept us distanced from that world, but we’re dipping back in with a release that’s coming to you on Friday 10/28. You can expect a beer that’s much like an Octoberfest, with a sturdy malt frame, but cloaked under the cover of October’s timely neighbor, November. Come see us and take a drive through Lager Town

From Good Times Oakland, canned July 8th 2025.

Pours a clear amber with plenty of long lasting foam and good lacing.

Smell is on the hoppier side rather than the maltier side. Some bread and grain do come through with some notes of grass and citrus.

The taste fares better with more of a malt lean. Good notes of bread, light grain and caramel. It does have a healthy grassy bitterness.

Good mouthfeel, good Oktoberfest. I wouldn't turn down another can.

Can. Pour is looking oktober fest-like, you know, like the look of iced tea of sorts. Nice creamy tan yellow head. Nose is sweet and malty, like many a marzen. Whew, initial taste is quite phenol bitter, such a large amount of sharp astringent bitter bite, a little turn off. Nastily negative nellie. Yes, after the first swig there is such an outstanding unhop rude bitterness in there, like somebody didn't know what they were doing. Not liking this, unpleasant. I've tasted brews like this that came from wannah bee brewers, immature. Didn't somebody try this before they canned it? Maybe it was an experimental recipe that didn't work out right so somebody said; hey, this looks like an oktober fest beer, so lets call it one. Blah. Marzen er not, this stuff is simply weird and barely tolerable, go figger. Not good at all. Straight up bad sample.

Can from Total Wine in Vacaville, CA. Pours medium amber with a large creamy beige head. Aroma is caramel. Med body. Flavor is lightly malty, with some mixed hops - don't seem to be Noble. Clean tho and the flavor is good.

16oz can. Nice amber-orange body, transparent. Steady off-white head. OK, but not really that spectacular of an example of the style. Malts are a little hefty, seems like sort of an odd recipe. Not my favorite but grew on me a lot as it warmed up some.

On tap at Half Acre, pours a clear bronze with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt, toasted malt, and a hint of caramel. Flavour brings out toasted caramel, bready malt and some gentle sweetness. Bready and toasted caramel. Very good.

pint can. lightly hazy amber pour with a big foamy off white head that has decent retention. The aroma is mild with grains, breads, and a bit of something perfume-like. the taste features caramels, breads, some bitter oak and a touch of grass. The palate is full and crisp. Finishes semi-sweet and sticky. Overall: Decent, but something is just a bit off.
