We’re calling our Beer Camp collaboration an “Atlantic Vintage Ale” which combines elements from Fullers’ robust Vintage Ales with some American-style hopping techniques. We used plums in the brew to complement Fuller’s naturally fruity yeast strain and we’re bottle conditioning the beer for added longevity. This beer should age well in the bottle for years to come. Drink it now or stash some away to revisit in the future.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and bread with a bit of straw backing. Flavor has sweet grains with light flora and a touch of caramel.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma has a bit of a muted character, but there is some caramel, toffee and toasted bread notes from the malt. Light fruity esters that are complimented by the plum but also include raisin and fig. Hints of alcohol spice. Pours a somewhat hazy, copper color with a medium sized, fairly thick and creamy, light tan head that exhibits nice retention as it slowly recedes. Light lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with some lingering sweetness in the finish. Malt notes of caramel, toffee and toasted bread with maybe a hint of honey. Moderate to moderately strong bitterness with a woodsy, resin, and earthy note to it. Light raisin, fig and plum notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. I think this one will definitely do well with some age. The malt profile is so light right now and some age might help accentuate it without really hurting the fruit notes. Hops are fairly light and shouldn’t really be impacted by age.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange with a rocky beige head. Mild fruity malt nose hints at plums. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor. Rich and malty with obvious plum notes. Citrusy hops in middle. Sticky, chewy malt finish hints at stewed fruit. Warming alcohol notes as well.

Bottle. A- Plum, malty. A- Copper color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Plum, slightly sour, subtle caramel, malty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, boring finish. O- I must say I thought this was gonna feel more along the lines of an old ale and I thought about holding off but ended up popping it open. A fair amount of plum on the nose and a sour Japanese type plum taste. Otherwise fairly one dimensional.

12 oz bottle from the mix pack, bought at work. Aroma is citrus peel, apple, dark fruit, caramel malt, light grain. Pours hazy burnt orange with a one finger off-white head with good retention and a little lace. Taste is malty sweet, a tad tart and a bit savory. Lots of fruity esters. Tastes just like a Fuller’s Vintage Ale. Awesome.

Bottle: Cloudy, amber-brown with a smooth beige head. Toffee, plum, baked bread aroma. Taste is bitter-sweet plums, toffee malt. Nicely malty......the alcohol is present, but not obtrusive or harsh. Pretty good.

Bottle to glass. Plums are well restrained to make this a nice beer. Balanced without a lot of strong ale characteristics.
