Complex earthy, smoky, and oak notes play against a refined, yet boozy, mix of sweet and bitterness. This remarkably limited version was 100% barrel aged for 12 months in scotch whiskey casks.

Bottle at annual RIS share. Black oily pour, small ring of beige head. Toasty, boozy aroma. Taste is more of the Scotch flavors, held up nicely by the Abyss base.

650ml bottle from Elizabeth Station shared at Alex's. Pours a very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma is barrel, scotch, some pit (that is not overwhelming, thx, God). Taste is roasted malt, some spicyness and fruitiness. Good one.

Dark brown with a thin light brown head. This has a fairly rich aroma, lots of dark fruits, lots of alcohol, woody, touch of molasses, and with a somewhat indistinct whisky note...the notes say smoky but I'm not necessarily getting that. On the palate, this is sweet and smoky, maybe some molasses, and a big whisky character. It's a bit unbalanced and boozy...lots of good stuff in here even if it's a little bit out of balance.

From a 22 oz. bottle. Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma of dark pit fruits, scotch, oak and vanilla. Flavors same. Bitter roast finish. This is one awesome imperial stout.
