Grodziskie is a style of beer from Poland that is made primary from wheat malt that has been kiln-dried with oak wood, which gives the beer a smokey oak character. Hops that been used are LUBLIN and SAAZ.

This is a highly-carbonated, low-alcohol beer with a clear pale yellow to golden color, low moderate lewels of hop bitterness and a moderate to medium-high smoke aroma and flavor.

Top fermentation, 10° plato, 3.6% ABV.

Aroma of wheat, yeast, citrus, smoked grains. Flavour is similar, slightly tart, with a dry smokey finish. Really enjoyable.

On tap at Pivovarsky klub, Prague. Hazy, cloudy to opaque from dirty yellow to dark golden, small frothy white head. Salted dry meat, smoked malts, hints of banana. Meaty taste, very full, goes from salty to light dry finish. Smoked cheese, smoky finish, lingering aftertaste. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. An excellent example of one of my favorite styles!

Tap at Klub. Cloudy dark golden orange color, high fine head. Smoky wheat nose, nice, banana, clove. Lightly smoke, lightly tart, refreshing. More like a rauchweizen, but very nice.

"Handbottled" at the brewpub. Hazy, yellow/gold colored beer. Aroma of smoked malt, wheat, some yeasty fruitiness- banana. Light, refreshing, tasty flavor, again smoked, wheat, hint of banana, slightly sweet, slightly sour in good balance, finish is hoppy bitter.
Very tasty summer ale.

Special in November 2010. Hazy straw. The aroma is smoky, with hints of yoghurty tartness. Smokey, salty, sour and full-bodied. Creamy and maybe a little bit spicy. What a cool beer - my first grodiziskie beer, too. I’m not sure how many have even been made anywhere on earth in the last 20 years.
