Sample from growler at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 04/05/2012. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. The aroma consists of roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with a roasty character of malt and coffee. Slight hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a short malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampler Tray @Blue Star, Seattle. Dark brown body. Bitter chocolate aroma. Strong and bitter taste: burnt coffee and roasted almonds. It goes perfect with sweet chocolate cake, but it’s not a beer you drink pints of or enjoy by itself, really... (19.Dec 2011 in the pleasant company of Stefan)

On tap at The Porch in Hayden, ID. Aroma of toasted marshmallows, kind of English. Pours black with a whitish-beige head and creamy lace. Taste is initially sweet, turns bitter, then leaves a sweet and sour finish. Nice roasted flavor. Medium to low carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Medium body. Nice porter.

Dark brown. Very fudgey, chocolatey aroma. Fudgey thick body with chocolate brownie taste. Straightforward but hits some good notes and has plenty of body. Pretty good beer from a brewer I don’t normally vibe off of.
