I try to have one or two Oktoberfest beers each season. This evening I am sampling Copper Legend bought from Half Time in a 16 oz can. Stamp on the bottom says: Canned 07/30/24. I have a throwback glass beer mug in place and I tilt the can into it. The appearance is gold-orange complete with a significant head of off-white foam. I smell the familiar Marzen scent of grain, hops and perhaps a bit of caramel. The drink is also familiar. There is a decent maltiness, baked bread, hops and a small touch of toffee. A nice, full sensation, good by me. No rewriting of the book on Oktoberfest beer but better than most, it's an incremental thing I believe.

Mild tea nose. Cloudy amber, medium firm head. Tea, bread. Medium body, easy carbonation. Nice full flavored Oktoberfest.

Better part of 6 month past canning, and it probably shows...16oz can. Lively, overly carbonated. Tan-orange body, unfiltered. Doesn't really look or taste true to style at all. Really unimpressive, like an odd copper ale..awkward astringencies and aromas. Not that good at all.

Bittersweet with some toasty goodness. Carbonation seems a bit strong but overall pretty good Oktoberfest style beer.

Pint can at home. Pours slightly hazy amber with a medium to large white head. Nose is caramel, malted grains, some slight toast note. Flavour is very smooth buttery bread and caramel. Quick moreish finish.

Ever so slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a thick, but fast-dying off-white head that starts at around two centimetres in height and fades to just a soapy layer after a few seconds. Aroma of metallic funk, caramelised sugars, a dash of light spices and a touch of apples and pears along with some sweetness. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty and nutty flavors show at first with a deep caramel and toffee sweetness that soon follows and shows a hint of spices with the metallic twang towards the end that is ever so bitter, but not overtly so, with a dry and grapefruit, slightly piney hop finish that does show some bitterness from the alpha acids. Aftertaste is mild, relatively sweet and showing a lot of malts throughout with a good robust, but fairly easy-drinking, especially for the style, quality. Overall, a nice and robust lager that brings out enough flavors and punch while being not too potent and bitter, but remaining crisp throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 02-December-2021 for US$2,99 sampled the following day here in my hotel room here on Central Park South in New York, New York on 03-December-2021.
