On Tap at the Poulsbo tasting room Slightly hazy deep golden. Nice off white head. BIG resinous hop aroma and lots of sticy juicy hop flavors. Plenty of residual sugars but are balanced nicely with plenty of tasty IBUS. The high rating is well deserved. Very nice. This and the Belgian Blonde are the best here.

Sample at the Hanshin Seed Event. A clear amber pour, fantastic hop aroma herbal & fruity with solid caramel malt backbone. Very bitter, green hoppy goodness, dry finish plus some sweetness from the malts. Good.

Tap at Q-Brick. Dark amber-orange. Butterscotch, toffee in the nose. Heavy and sweet, with stone fruits, butterscotch. Not what I want in a W-IPA. Too sweet and syrupy.

Pours clear amber with a tall white head. Juicy malt and citrus hop aroma. The flavor is on the sweet side, typical of many IIPAs.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Muddy light amber color with medium sized head. Hop aroma, intense, fruity; but also some cheese and yeast. Good body strength; round mouthfeel; the caramel flavor is moderately sweet, with a toffee accent; strong bitterness; the hops contribute with strong resins and some orangey fruitiness; also the flavor has a trace of cheesy yeast.
Good but rough, unclean; if refined, could be very good, because the good hops are there.

Crisp, hazy and nicely tinted bronze and amber coloured body with a bit of a ruby glow at the bottom with a perfect, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pungent pineapple, citrus, piney and sweet hops with a lot of honey and resin noticeable and quite a bit of alcohol. Full-bodied; Super malty at first with a resinous bite of hops, some pineapple and floral hop notes also come through, but a lot of sugars and even more alcohol. Aftertaste shows a lot of all these tastes with a hint of fruit, some piney bitterness and a great sweet finish complete with the hop flavours really going strong. Overall,a very nice Imperial IPA, I just would have preferred a smaller format bottle, but I know this is what they do out West, and at least they charge a respectable price. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 11-January-2013 for US$7.49 sampled at home in the real Washington on 06-February-2013 two days before leaving for Washington state again.
