A light modern ale with floral aromas and a sweet gooseberry finish on the nose and palate. About this bottle: This modern hopped beer is brewed with Maris Otter, barley and Crystal Malts and Styrian Goldings hops. It’s full of sweet floral aromas, perfectly balanced by a bitter sweet finish.

Bottle from Marks & Spencer, Halifax. Amber-gold with a thin head. Has a fuller fruity taste, with orange citrus involved, and slightly sugary tasting too. Has a fair aroma in the respect.

Bottle. Deep gold with a momentary white head and slight carbonation. Light, slightly jammy aroma, with some hedgerow hops. Flavour had crisp, cereal, malts, more fruit and a decent, bitter, finish. A pleasant single hop beer.

Lightly hazy gold beer, small bubbly white head. Thin malts bring a trace of creamy sweetness. Mild tangy caramel and a little paper. Sweetish esters. Tangy ripe fruits. Finishes dry and mildly bitter. Fine.

Bottle at home, 02/01/16. Clear golden amber with an off white covering that quickly dissipates to a swirl. Nose is sweet malt, perfume, grain, orange, light metallic strains. Taste comprises caramel, perfume, floral, tangerine, candied fruit peel, light bread dough. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation - a little on the flat an lifeless side, semi drying close with faint hop bitterness. Not great, lacks balance, overly sweet, poor showing from Oakham.

Bottle from Marks and Spencer, Enniskillen [020915]
Amber, clear, thin white head dissipated quickly
Aroma of sweet caramel, touch of toffee, caramelised orange, more orange as it warms up, barley sugar malts
Taste of caramel, marmalade, caramelised orange, barley sugars, bitter spicy hops, hint of black tea, not great
Palate - Very soft carb, bit flat out of the bottle, medium body, sweet marmalade, sticky. Finish has very sweet caramel, scorched orange, then a bitter tannic tail. Messy palate.
Overall - Bit of a mess this one. Expected it to be more hoppy. Some sickly malts. Worst Oakham beer I’ve had.

bottle from M&S Exeter. Golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Lovely grassy-resiny hop aroma. Medium-bodied, almost chewable malty base with loads of grassy, resiny and slightly herbal hops. Well balanced and delicious.
