Terminal Gravity IPA is a copper to honey colored ale with a rich malt character and a clean bitter hop finish. This full bodied beer uses malts from Scotland, Belgium and the Pacific Northwest to achieve a slightly nutty lightly toasted taste. Yeast esters provide hints of stone fruits like apricot and peach, while hops from Yakima and Eastern Europe provide grapefruit and spicy notes.

12 oz bottle gifted by luttonm. Thanks! Can't believe I haven't rated this one. It's probably a beer I haven't had since before my rating days, so I shouldn't be too surprised. A more dense appearance, a copper pour, a touch cloudy. The grain is one the slightly sweeter side, and bready. Hops are subtle, and have a citrus fruit like hint. Rind like bitterness. The malt and hop combination is interesting for sure. Quite a tasty IPA. Easy to enjoy this one.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a small, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of peach, apricot, caramel malt and bread. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, toasted malt, grapefruit, grass, spice and pine with a dry, bitter, resiny finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very malty ipa, unbalanced and kind of weird but still ok.

From a 355ml bottle on 10/3/2016. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head, Has a muted aroma of caramel, honey, some citrus fruit and an odd slightly chemical smell. Take a sip and there’s a bit of sweet caramel malt, lots of sharp sweet and sour citrus, a bit of spice, followed by a big, quite astringent bitterness. The texture is a touch syrupy and the carbonation is soft. This is a bit of a weird one. Not at all typical of a west coast IPA, and comes across as a little unbalanced. On the bright side, it did begin to charm me just a little towards the end.

Bottle, 10C. Clear amber with an inch of near white head. Interesting aroma with bread crusts, peach, pine logs, kumquats, grapefruit. Full bodied but not sticky, moderate carbonation. Bittersweet with hop aromatics thoroughly melded into clean rich malt flavours. Bread, singed grain, peach, hints of stewed and dried fruit, citrus peel, pine. Fairly strong bitterness. A bit wearing after a while, but a fine beer and a good reminder that IPA is a very broad "style" even in the West of the US.

Bottle from Imazato shared by Taro. Terminal gravity IPA - a lovely copper color with a pine needle hop aroma. Soft bodied. The taste is woodsy earthy pine and a bit floral. A very solidly balanced old school IPA.

Pours out a darkish amber, small foamy head, hops dominate, burying any malt characteristics. Biggest drawback for me was a dull metallic finish, and the flat hops bitterness obliterating any other flavors.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A light fruity and malty nose. Mellow, some caramel, sweetness, light fruity hops, cardboard. Decent. I might be detecting some signs of infection, slight for sure in this bottle. Low hop character.

Tap at Wilf’s Bar & Restaurant (by Amtrak), Portland 08/11/12. Mid amber with a thin off white head. Nose comprises light caramel malt tones, hops, some vegetal notes, a little citrus. Tastes of bitter tropical fruits, caramel malt, touch of grapefruit, more maltiness, mineral tones. Medium bodied with soft carbonation with a bitter hoppy finish. Drinkable but not my kind of IPA - too malty.
