If being in one of the coldest places in the US isn’t extreme enough, the contents of this beer may very well redefine your commitment to the pursuit of hops. Rockslide IPA is brewed in the ’West Coast’ style with aggressive amounts of American hops such as Amarillo, Centennial and Summit hops. You are greeted with a full frontal assault of citrus/grapefruit/pine hop character, followed up with malt to balance the mouthfeel. This beer is all about hops.

Beer No. 3 of my flight of beers at the brewery tap. Deep golden colour, quite clear, white head. Typical West Coast IPA, fairly aggressively hopped in both aroma and flavour, with piney / resinous and grapefruity notes.

Draft at the brewpub. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, caramel and malt. Taste of grapefruit, bitter pine, grassy herbal hop and a solid malty backbone. Really bitter finish. Heavily bitter-hopped, perhaps a bit too much.

On tap at the brewhouse as part of a flight of everything they offered! Slightly hazy orange head with moderate white head. Tropical and bitterness mix well.

Med amber color. Big thick caramel malty nose with not a ton of hops. The mouth is big, much bigger than abv, with tons of caramel. Smooth, but over the top malty IPAs just ain’t my thing. Big malty finish. Will made for what it wants to be, but just doesn’t groove with me.

Tap @ Hops and Pies Denver during FiftyFifty tap takeover. Pours a cloudy orange appearance with a cream colored head. Grapefruity, zesty ctirus/tropical fruity, a bit mango, somewhat citrus hoppy aroma. Fairly potent, piney, moderately bitter hoppy flavor with some grapefruit and toasty malts. Easy to drink but nothing super special.

Draught at Bashamichi. Big tropical fruit nose, soft, lightly estery, mango, peach, orange. Very soft body and flavor, rather sweet, with honey, peach, and tropical fruit. Very nice.

Pine and citrus hops over a sweet malt backbone. Dry, harsh mouth. Very hop forward but a sweet finish. Mighty fine.

On tap at Blue Palms during their Eclipse Release Night. Pours with a mostly clear golden hued body with a small white head that doesn’t last very long (low carbonation it appears). Aromas of lots of sticky resin, grapefruit, Centennial and some tropical fruit. A bit of earthy and pine hop notes and some sticky caramel. Flavors are nice and fresh with hope notes of citrus, tangerine and grapefruit. Mild malt and light caramel. Medium bitterness. Lower carbonation than I would like. Dry. Tasty and fresh!
