Tap. Pours clear black, large creamy tab head, very long lasting, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, cocoa, coffee, some ashtray. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter, roasty, tasty. Medium body.

Draft: Poured a pitch black with light brown head. Aroma is rich malts and chocolate. Sweet mix hits the palate head on with malts and chocolate.

On tap at Laurelwood PDX, pours black with a large tan head. Aroma birds out dry coffee and roasted malt. Flavour is similar, with very dry coffee and roast. Fairly bland, but creamy palate. Decent stout.

Cask at Laurelwood on Sandy, PDX, 25/05/13. Mid black with a thin tan head, good lacing ensues. Nose carries a good roasted malt blast, chocolate, brown sugars. Taste comprises bitter roast, chocolate, molasses, sugars. Medium bodied with soft carnonation, smooth on the palate lending towards bitter roast in the finish. A decent cask conditioned stout.

Sample at the Laurelwood Public House at PDX. Jet black pour with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Medium body with flavors of coffee, chocolate malt and earthy hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap. Pours a pure black hue with a large beige head. A nice nose of char, coffee. The flavor is excellent: dark fruit, smoke, rich roast, damn this is good. Best beer at an airport ever!

Draught at the Brewpub. Deep black with nice lace and legs. Roasty, smoky nose. Sweet, full flavor, coffee, black chocolate, milk. Nicely roasted, good balance. Slightly tangy. Very nice stuff.

A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. In aroma, a smooth coffee chocolate with light woody notes. In mouth, loads of coffee with nice bitterness and alcohol warmth in finale. Very nice. On tap at PDX Concourse E location, July 31 2011.

Draught@Laurelwood Public House & Brewery, Portland
ABV 6.1%, 40 IBU.
Dark opaque brown color, steady beige head. Lots of roasted coffee and some dark chocolate in the nose. Medium-bodied. Toasted malty, coffeish and chocolaty. Nicely balanced and coffeish stout.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted sweetish malty chocolate aroma with some hints of coffee. Sweetish roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a slightly sweetish roasted malty chocolate finish.
