Belgian-style ‘wit-bier’ or white ale has a light wheat base and is typically spiced with coriander and citrus peel. For a unique twist, we add rose petals as well. Manifesto Wit is pale straw-colored and slightly hazy in appearance, with invigorating citrus, floral, and spice aromatics. The light body and subtle sweetness of this beer accentuate the peppery flavor produced by the yeast. These lively flavors, combined with the slight tartness in the finish, create a crisp and refreshing experience. It’s sunshine in a glass!

Pours a cloudy yellow body and a small white head. Aroma's: wheaty, light fruity, clove. Retronasal it's sweetish, banana, grain, wheat. More like a Hefeweizen really. Flavor is rather sweet, wheaty, light herbal. Light bodied. Finishes slightly dry.

Pours creamy yellow, bit of foam there. Nose has spices, coriander, quite strong cloves. Herbal yeasty flavours continue in the taste. Wheat sourness there as well. Aftertaste quite short, somw dry tannin feel linger for a bit. Decent but not super exciting.

Draft at social brewery during the eagle rock tap takeover. Clouded yellow coloured pour with a lasting thin white froth. Aroma is doughy wheat, bready, orange, tangy. Flavour is composed of doughy wheat, bready grains, mineral, tangy apple. Orange zest. A little staling. Palate is flabby wheat, moderate carbonation, raw grains. Not much yeast character.

Somewhere: pours a pale gold with a white head. Aroma is spice, yeast, citrus, and wheat. Taste is hoppy and dry for a Belgian wheat. It is not too sweet, which is big plus. Light bodied. Refreshing, but still flavorful. ,lid aftertaste.

Hazy golden coloured body with a light pale yellow tint and a large, relatively quick dying five centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale wheat, coriander seed, yeast, bread, nutmeg, anise and a hint of cloves. Medium-bodied; Strong yeastie and wheatie flavours with some moderate sweetness and much more spiciness throughout the flavours with a lot of dry and herbal notes on the back end. Aftertaste shows some good complexity with spice coupled with herbs and yeast - fairly light, but showing some residual alcohol and dry bittering flavours. Overall, a good wit that’s on the stronger side of things, but in a good way. Still, great to drink on a warm day or pretty much any day in Los Angeles, given that it’s always hot and sunny there. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in San Diego (Mission Valley), California on 08-June-2013 for US$5.49 sampled at home in Washington on a relatively hot day on 03-October-2013 a few hours before heading west to Alaska!

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Pretty mellow overall, but classic in its approach to the style. Easy drinker.
