Gold with a fading white head. Doesn’t look like a wit, but smells like one: orange zest, wheat, coriander. Thin and sweet with oranges and and spices. Simple but refreshing.

12oz bottle pours nearly clear deep gold to copper with off white head. The aroma offers up modest levels of yeasty Belgian spices and sugary malt sweetened floral hops. The taste is pretty crisp and refreshing with a mild yeasty Belgian spiciness to go along with sugary sweet malts, some floral hops and a sweet apple like esteriness. Nice.

Hazy orange coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of fresh malt, wheat, curacao, nutmeg, alcohol and a ton of yeast. Medium-bodied; Grassy and herbal flavours up front with an odd orange sweetness, stronger than just the peel with a hint of earth and spice but a rather smooth and sweet finish. Aftertaste has mostly curacao and real orange juice flavour with a hint of the wheat and yeast at the end. Overall, a deep flavoured, but otherwise flawed beer, but nothing horrible. Drinkable, surely, and with the prices from Costco, not a horrible choice. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle given to me from a twenty-four pack available at Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia sampled at home here on 05-June-2012.

Bottle. Malty, bready, slightly buttery aroma, with coriander and orange. Lacks the tart wheat character of the best. Rather deep gold, cloudy, with a fine, low head. Very sweet, malty, lacking any tartness, some diacetyl, orange and coriander. Cloying and heavy. Not a very good example of the style. Seems hastily thrown together.

12 oz bottle into Hoegaarden tumbler. Pours a hazy orange with a fast disappearing medium white head; leaves a fine blanket of foam. Aromas include grain, gym bag, cheese, orange rind--smells a bit off. Taste is sweet and umami, and again, a little off. Carbonation is medium and the mouthfeel is pleasantly creamy. Overall, it’s not bad, it’s just, one more time, say it with me, a little off. The Kirkland IPA was weird, too. Addendum: beer goes downhill in a major way towards the end of the glass, lowering the score considerably. Also, if I was rating completely to style, the score would be even lower.

12oz bottle, brewed at Matt Brewing in Utica, This is a bad Wit. Its like cold coriander iced tea with some watery cereal. Not much else to add, its like bad homebrew.
