8th June 2008. A little bit sour with a tart well blended cherry undertone. Not so much a cherry beer as a tart fruity ale.

12 ounce bottle from Wine and Beer Westpark in Richmond, VA. Pours a clear cherry red, appropriately enough. Medium head with moderate head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet cherries with grainy bread notes. Taste is cherries and green apple with a bitter finish. Medium bodied.

It pours amber – brown with weak tan head. The aroma is fruity with tart fruit skin notes and cherry – cranberry sweetness. The taste begins both sweet and mildly tart with cherry and cranberry type notes. By midway it may be possible to notice the malty “beer” note struggling to be noticed amid the fruitiness. I do notice it but for an all too brief spell. It ends with the modest fruity tartness drying it out some.

Sampled at Max’s American Beer Fest. Pours a translucent ruby red with a cloudy white head. Fruity aroma, slightly musty. Flavor is sour with cherries, tart fruits, not so much citrus. Sour finish. Nice for what it is but also one dimensional.

pours copper/ruby, beige head. Aroma malty, cherry almost puree like, light fruit tartness. Taste, thick malty, light cherry fruits, filled with cherry juice and malts, notes of light chocolate with bitter finish.

Pours redish brown with light tan head. Smells like maraschino cherries. Taste is similar, sweet artificial cherry. Intersting. Better than I was expecting. Light to medium body with average carbonation.

Slightly red and muddy brown colored. Really big head to it, especially for a fruit beer. Slight cherry aroma with something else in the smell that I can’t pick out at the moment. Pretty sour tasting. Tart cherry flavors are most prominent. Tiny bit of the taste of malts. I actually did not really think it to be that great.

Cherries and barley malt on the nose. Rust colored, no head. Tastes of sour cherries. Wheat and light hops are left on the palate. Tasty but lacks balance.

On tap at the bocktown. Light haze and a little dark like iced tea. Smell os rather sweet and beery at the same time. Initially the taste is like a somewhat mildly hopped ale and this turns rather tart once on the palate. Good crisp mild carbonation. Finish is interesting; fruity yet not sweet. Tart yet mildly bitter.

Bottle: Hazy amber with a large fluffy beige head. Thick lacing. Nose is faint, but of malts and sour fruitiness. Tastes like second rate pie cherries and some cheap lager. Boy this was awful.
