Bottled. Poured reddish brown w/smallish active head. Smell was cherryish. But alas that is the good part. In the end, this tastes like beer mixed with cranberry, or like diet red bull. Avoid.

6/11/2010 Pours a solid pale ale color with a pink tinge to it and a tightly bubbled head that recedes gradually. Smells of sweet bready toasted malt with a tart non-descript fruit aroma. Taste is sweet malt bready with a hint of caramel. Tart almost sour fruit washes across the palette and never leaves. Dry bitter finish with a lingering sour cherry almost lemony taste. Crisp carbonation, light to medium body and tart fruity mouthfeel. Honestly this is one of my favorite smutty seasonals. Its light and tart and oh so flavorful although maybe a bit one dimensional. I’d love to see a version of this barrel aged or spiked with brett personally.

Smells fairly terrible, with an odd, decaying-vegetation sweetness that does nothing to help the tart cherry odors on display. Looks thin and fizzy, but the color is interesting and non-cherry red. Surprise, though, that the taste is kinda enjoyable. The malts aren’t overly sweet, meaning the sour cherry never gains any unwanted sugar-coating. Not great, but bearable amongst cherry brews. Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy red-brown with an inch of off-white head. Tastes of bitter cherry with a hint of alcohol. Tastes of a strong bitter cherry.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-orange color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was caramel, nut, yeast and light notes of berry and pecan. The flavor was tart sour cherries, caramel, pecan, cream and yeast. The finish was short with tart berries prominent. Medium body. Interesting.

Tap at Blind Tiger. A bit underrated I would say. Pours a dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Lots of lacing. A light aroma with notes of sweet malt and bread. More sweeness in the flavor. A nice fruit character: Some cherry and strawberry, along with mild tartness in the finish and whip cream. Medium bodied, a little tart and with mild bite. Mild malt caramel and fruity aftertaste. Nice. Refreshing. Crisp.

this one just doesnt work, the cherry taste doesnt jive with the ale flavor and creates a really sour, annoying taste that doesnt make you want to have another sip, let alone another beer.
