The Valmy blonde has been produced according to the original recipe since its creation in 1999 by three farmers from Valmy. Balanced with a slight bitterness, its golden robe is topped with a fine white foam. It goes very well with meals and in particular Saint-Menehould's pig's foot.

Bottle at Cheval Rouge, Saint Menehould. Aroma is not great - spilled beer in pub floor vibe. Nice light gold appearance with reasonable fizz. Taste is clean, light hop. Finish easy. Felt good before the rating, still good after.

Hazy pale golden colour, a lot of tiny bubbles, good but loose frothy white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma wheat, lemon, yeast, grassy, bit barnyard. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, wheaty, light lemon, herbal notes. Sweet and a bit bitter aftertaste, light lemony, herbal notes, light body, watery texture, average carbonation. More like a witbier, nice fresh and light.

F: big, white, not long lasting. C: milky murky yellow, hazy. A: malty, bit honey, herbal, floral, sweet mellow fruity, bit yeasty. T: malty, sweet mellow fruity, bit mineral, citrus, herbal, yeasty, sharp carbonation, looks like kind of NEIPA probably from yeasty part of fermentor, medium body 33cl bottle from Carrefour supermarket in Rethel, France.

Bottled@AIH66 Beer Session (from Saveur Biere). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, some slight nectar, spruce and quite sweet malts. Flavour is very similar with some mild herbs and resin. Nicely sweet, but still refreshing.

Bottled 330ml (Saveur)
Hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma has riped fruits, orange peels, yeast. Medium-bodied. Yeasty, citrusy, riped fruits in the flavor too. Belgian blonde yeastyness and still very French. Finish is a bit emty.

A hazed dirty amber, murky, with a thick collapsing off white head. In aroma, bizarre doughy malt with weird fruity and fishy notes, solvents, not good. In mouth, a sweet doughy malt, oily mouthfeel, curacao, spices, not bad, herbal medium bodied. Bottle from Paris, bought in May 2011. Shared with probstk, Aug. 21, 2011.

Gushing to good, just off-white head, yellow beer. Vanilla, lactic, fresh grain, liqueur. Oxydation in the mouth, again a bit milky, chalk. Not really light bodied, quite carbonated. Oh well. Interesting to have tasted it - once.
