Tap at the brewery. Very grainy, Nelson is in the background. Orange lemon and pineapple squash aroma (bit of a theme today). Taste is a bit more tropical, passion fruity. Nice. Maybe feels a bit too citrusy for the name, but it's nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Saison Nelson on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. 330ml bottle from Ales by Mail

BBE 09/11/15 - Pours hazy yellowish with a thick foamy head. Aroma of vinous fruits, tropical notes, stuffy yeastiness, doughy notes and hints of spicy earthiness. Taste is carbonated, spicy and fruity with some hints of doughy notes and stuffy yeastiness. Finish is smooth, crisp and stuffy yeasty with some hints of doughy notes. A bit unbalanced.

330ml bottle. Murky, yellow-ish pale golden colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy yeasty aroma, notes of brine, mustard, sage, gherkin, pearl onion, white pepper. Taste is dry hoppy, slightly tart, herbal and spicy yeasty, hints of lemon juice and brine, sage. Bone-dry.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Milky golden body with a medium off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of furniture polish, funky yeast and melon. Flavour of barley orange sweets, metallic lemon and a hint of TCP. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A strange beer. Not at all what I was expecting and hoping for.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras drunk on the train home. Cloudy gold lasting off white head. funky aroma. It’s also got the typical nelson Sauvin fruity hops. The funk was a bit startling. The hops are great. I mean it’s a little odd but I really liked it. Weird but intense.

Bottle 330ml (AbM)
Hazy orange color, huge cloudy white head. Tropical fruity, pineapple, kiwi aroma. Active carbonation. Medium-bodied. Citrus, pineapple, some kind of overriped fruits. Dry yeast flavor with foamy mouthfeel and light tartness. Kind of overfermented feeling.

22nd August 2015
Keg at the brewery. Very hazy paleish gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy with good fine carbonation. Thin malts, slightly sweet. Slightly sourish lemon dominates any faint Nelson. Light dry finish. Was not expecting this to be lemony sour!
