Vurige non Smell- weak to medium, roast, malt, faint Belgian yeast. Foam- large to huge, thin-ish, soft, roasty, weak bitter tones and caramel. Color is light white-brown-ish. Appearance - generic bottle cap, label with a sexy nun, no bonus this time. Clear-ish, dark brown-ruby color, medium carbonation. From - snifter Taste - malty, roast, bitter tones, watered-down caramel, malt, faint Belgian yeast, acidic tones, very faint sourness.Nothing special.

Bottle from a Plus supermarket, Tilburg. Labeled 'Vurige Non'. Pours hazy dark brown with a quickly diminishing, frothy, tan head. Nice aroma of candi sugar, toffee, marzipan, candied date, raisin, herbs, Cola even, cookie dough, dried tea. It tastes medium to heavy malty sweet, hints of caramel & raisin, not yet cloying, with a faint metallic zing; light to medium herbal bitter, tea-like, a bit nutty, and very light sour. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, slightly metallic, lingering caramel, bread & dough. Medium body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Too bad about the small off-note; this was an enjoyable one.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Slijterij van Alkmaar - Centrum’ as ’Vurige Non’, best before November 2017. Clear, dark red with a medium large, dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish, slightly yeasty-spicy and a little fruity aroma of caramel, red fruits and some chocolate. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a little yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, brown sugar, some chocolate, hints of red fruits and a bit of overripe banana, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little roasty and a bit yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. A bit too sweet and quite one-dimensional, but actually not bad!
