From tap. Sweet aroma with lots of cherry juice. The taste is a fine mix of sweet and sour. It seems a bit articifial, because cherry juice is used, and not whole cherries. A pleasant beer, but certainly not a classic, as it was in the 70's and 80's. In the mid 80's a pub in Breda one week per year served Liefmans kriek straight from the wooden cask. Re-rate: bottle. No head. Strong cherry aroma with some oak. Sweet and sour flavor with cherry juice and a bit of an alcohol burn. Full bodied and syrupy. Lovely beer.

(Bottle) Pours clear deep red with thin beige head. Lovely aroma - cherries mainly but with a lot more hard to identify. Medium body with nice fine carbonation. Great taste with excellent balance of tart and sweet - there’s lovely fruity tartness offset by some candy sweetness. It’s fruity, with a mix of fresh and cooked cherries. Again there’s a plenty of subtle complex as well - some yeasty, earthy and maybe funky notes. Really nice.

Smell - weak to medium strong, cherry, sweet, bit like jam even, some more citrusy notes. Foam - thin, sour, medium soft, quite large in mouth some citrus notes and some more sour notes. Quite large pink while color with bit of orange. Appearance - medium light, clear, red color. Taste - sour, acidic, citrus, some cherry. Nor my type

Bottled. Foggy red wine colour. Decent pinkish head. Nose: lovely cherry, wild yeast, caramel malts, dried fruit. Similar taste. Not overly sweet. Tasty.
