Tap at the Euston Tap. Nice stuff, spicy, malty, good. Was smashed... but it seems I liked it a lot.

Cask at Euston Tap. It pours deep brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is toasted nut, earth, wood, fruit cake, light umami notes, plum compote and cacao. The taste is bitter - sweet, toasted nut, wood, earth, cacao nibs, varnish, tannin, light astringency and some dried fruit. Finish is long and dry. Medium body and fine carbonation. Perhaps a touch too dry and bitter, which reduces the drinkability a bit. Decent anyhow.

Cask @ Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Dark clear ruby with a small head. Dry hopped with a bitter-sweet character. Some grittier, grainier malts evident in a very palatable texture.

Cask at Andrew Usher’s. Clear brown body with ruby highlights. Medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of crème brûlée, burnt caramel and toffee. Flavour of brown sugar, vanilla and woody malts. Thin body with a smooth texture. Soft carbonation prickle. A lovely, distinct Brown Ale - the aroma is especially good.
