Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at home, Sunday 8th February 2015 Pours dark murky brown what head there was soon departs. Sour and tart, I hated it at first but gradually grew to accept (but not quite totally like) the beer. I know that there is a big fuss over this ’wonderous’ Morpheus yeast that the brewery and fans of Alvinne go on about, yawn.... but to me I think it’s overplayed. Some wet wood and soil on nose. It is sour and fruity (dark fruits) and with a finish that is funky and dry. Fine. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0 Had this again with the München Ratebeer Group, Wednesday 1st July 2020 at Dave's. I have to confess having looked at my old rating this is a much better beer than I recall, softness this time, winey, tart, wet wood, but really good. 3.7

Bottle at home. It pours darkest brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. The nose is toasty, earth, cocoa, tangy, spice, dark fruits, berry, mouldy wood and Worcestershire sauce The taste is crisp, tart, roasted malt, caramelised sugars, Granny Smith apple, some acidity, berry skin, vinous, Worcestershire sauce, Red wine vinegar and Bloody Mary with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Hides the abv very well. Quite a unique flavour profile! Solid.
