Farmageddon #11 is a 12-14 month blend of oak-aged, wild farmhouse ales. Batch #11 sees us drop the "Barrel Aged Brett Saison" descriptor formerly used for Farmageddon in favour of "Wild Farmhouse Ale" due to the range of microflora at play (a mixture of wild yeasts and bacteria), and the increase in tartness in this batch relative to those before it. The effervescent beer that hibernates in these bottles is a dynamic labour of love, changing and improving with time.

Bottle pour at the brewery. Farmageddon BA Brett Saison 7.2% Funky oaky acidic aroma, tart flavor that reminds me of Rodenbach or New Belgium’s sour La Folie. Damn nice.

A golden ale with a very thin white head. In aroma, nice tart mix of lactic notes, light Brett, ground cherry, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice tart mix of ground cherry, light lactic and Epsom salts, very nice and complex. Bottle from brewery, July 2018.

Batch # 12. Bottle at home, from Bellwoods, Toronto, 23rd July 18. Pours a light straw colour, hazy, no head. Aroma is superfunk, wood, barrel, heady farm yard, horse blanket. Taste is intense, funk, wood, brett, addictive, barrel, apple, balsamic, extremely complex. This is fabulous, Bellwoods excel at these beers, perfect for 33 degree heat.

500ml bottle pours out a hazy straw color topped with a white. Nose is sour apple bread notes barrel and some spice. Taste is more of the sour tart notes a little barrel presents and a odd apple spice.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light honey sweetness and a touch of funk. Flavour is nicely balanced, with lots of pleasant hay, farmhouse funk, and rustic saison yeast. Complex and light, with a hay-like finish. Very good.
