Auch Drachen und andere Fabeltiere haben Durst. Da der Basilisk treu das Wappen von Basel beschützt, hat ihm die Brauerei Fischerstube ein eigenes Bier geschenkt. Das Ueli Basilisk (5,4 % vol.) hat einen betonten Malzkörper, ist naturtrüb und ein Hauch stärker als andere Biere und besticht durch seine schöne Bernsteinfarbe.

33cl bottle from Coop Supermarkt Basel Gundeli. Head is medium, wht, average retention. Colour is deep gold, light hazy. Aroma is malty, bready, bit caramel, fruity touch. Taste is medium malty base, bready, bit caramel, toast, hoppy touch, decent bitterness, medium carbonation, nice clean taste, enjoyed.

Bottle 33 cl. Clear amber with a small and creamy, beige head. Biscuity and slightly caramelly nose. Medium body, again somewhat biscuity and toasty with a subdued bitterness. Nowhere this is a Helles, rather a Märzen. 301024

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Amber colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of fruity, malt, biscuit, caramel hints. Taste is sweetish, malt, fruit, biscuit, with some bitterness. Medium boded, soft carbonation, light bitter finish. Quite OK

13/1/2022. Bottle courtesy of minutemat, cheers. Region #369. Pours hazy golden amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of sweet stewed fruits, caramel, malt, biscuit, honey, touch of veg. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Bittersweet finish. Not unpleasant.

330ml bottle from a wooden gift set of average Swiss beers, thanks Eric for this. Pours clear golden amber, small off-white cap. Aroma is fairly gentle lager malt. Taste is safe lager territory, gentle sweet malt, a touch of caramel and corn but generally nothing untoward.
