Originally brewed as a collaboration with Kissmeyer Beer, this is our take on a traditional German style Gose, flavoured with fruit, sea buckthorn and sea salt. Tart, lightly sour, fruity and refreshing with a defined saltiness makes this beer an excellent accompaniment to food.

33cl can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy pale gold with limited white foam. Aroma is yeasty and mineral. Body is kind of thin with average carbonation. Taste is moderately bitter, medium salty and delicately sour. Finish is short and clean.

22 June 2019. At Billie's Bier Kafetaria, Antwerp. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy yellow with a small, thinning, frothy, white head. Aroma of gooseberries, pineapple slice, lemon & lime, grass, wheat, yellow apple, unripe mandarin. Taste is light to medium fruity sour, gooseberries indeed, lemon & lime, toned down a bit by sweetish apple & apricot on a wheaty & bready base, faintest touch of salt with a slightly bitter edge. Dryish, grassy hoppy finish, lingering sour yellow fruit, salt, wheat. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. I was hoping for a bit more depth & strength but it was enjoyable - I'll be lenient.

Fairly fruity gose. Light with a nice sourness. Gooseberries do their thing. Nothing outstanding, but certainly refreshing and tasty. Subtle saltiness.

Uklar gulbrun farge med hvitt skum. Lukter drops, parfyme. Syrlig og noe salt i smaken. Frisk. Frisk god avslutning.

A really decent, crisp gose. Probably the right side of salty tartness for me, with the salt giving it a bit if a tingly edge with the sour citrus and a sort of savoury hint too.

Gose with gooseberries from this renowned American style English craft brewer, thanks Craftmember for sharing the can. Snow white, loose head quickly reduced to a moussy, thin ring over a hazy peach-hued orange blonde beer. Aroma of (strong) green gooseberries, sweet gherkins, fresh spring onions, lime juice, sorrel leaves, sourdough. Crisp onset, indeed a lot of gooseberry but again in a ‘green’, nearly unripe kind of way, tart and rhubarb- and sour apple-like, fizzy carb, supple sourdoughy and bit soapy (wheat!) malt basis. A salty edge appears somewhere in the middle but remains faint and short-lived; the gooseberry acidity and lactic tartness dominate and dry the finish, in a very refreshing, juicy way. I would not have minded one more pinch of salt personally, but this is in all respects a classy, well-made, crisp and quenching modern sour.
