Baltic porter aged in bourbon barrels with coconut and cocoa nibs. The lengthy conditioning period in the barrels creates a silky-smooth chocolatey mouthfeel enhanced by the use of oats and brown sugar. Noticeable sweetness gets balanced by roasted malt and hop bitterness. Additional flavors include bourbon, vanilla, and oak.

On tap at Maloney's in Matawan, NJ. Opaque black, brown color. Small creamy beige head. Chocolatey roasted malt aroma is redolent of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Flavors follow the aroma. Roasted malt, oak, bourbon, vanilla and coconut. Notes of warming alcohol as well. Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Lingering oaky finish.

Tasting at Erik's, bottle
Black colour. Aroma of cocoa/chocolate. Good body strength, the quite strong roasty character and alcohol cut through the residual sugars; a bit too earthy to be really classy.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out coconut and cocoa nibs upfront, with a nice bourbon character rounding this off. Flavour is loaded with raw cocoa nibs, a little coconut, and bourbon barrels. Lots of raw, earthy cocoa nibs, with a bourbon-y finish. Very good stuff.

Dark brown with a thick head. On the nose, definitely some coconut. A bit boozy, some toastiness. Fairly thick, a bit harsh and certainly there is a roasty harshness if nothing else. Alcohol, too. There's a touch of coconut, the bourbon seems to lend a boozy harshness more than anything else.
