75cl bottle [from trade with Bierkoning] shared with Dutchdrebus. Huge fairly quickly diminishing beige head on top of a dark red colored beer. Smell malts, hops and some fruityness slightly tending to sweetness. Taste malts, slightly caramel, hops, alcohol, some fruityness. Absolutely totally impressed with this beer, which has been retired for years now! Absolutely impressive. Medium to full body and carbonation.

Bottle @ joes thx to benzai. Hazy ruby colour with a big off-white head. Smells barley wine, hops, pine, sweet. Tastes bitter, hoppy, grapefruit, sweet, red fruits, caramel.. This beer is about 4 years old? The taste is so well preserved. Very cool share by benzai. Medium to full body, great carbo.

Bottle number 159 from the February 2009 bottling thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed amber hued body with a fading white head. Aromas are of brandy, bready, raisins, caramel, cereal and melanoidins. Some orange, citrus and resin. Flavors are bitter, with some sweetness, iced tea, brandy, orange schnapps and caramel. Lower carbonation, medium bodied, bitter duration and warming. Not sure how I would have liked this fresh. Not even remotely close to a DIPA any more, but decent as an American Strong or Barley Wine.

(bottle, 33cl, #48/1248) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Caramel-malty and slightly bready aroma with a vinous-fruity, almost Sherry-like note. Sweet-bitter flavour, almost full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Hearty (cara-)malt character with notes of bread, liquorice and a well-attenuated slightly fruity and resiny hoppy touch; sweet-bitter malt-accened finish with a vinous touch and a well-masked alcohol. Very good. 12.X.11

Bottle #48: Amber to deep amber coloured, small and stable tanned head, dry caramelly and (port-)vinous nose, a good dash of aromatic hops underneath; medium to full bodied, pretty soft, solid bitter-sweet flavour; perfectly balanced caramelly and hoppy finish, dry hoppy aftertaste. Fine brew...

2008 Vintage 75 cl. bottle/shared@Kulminator: bottle nr. 271/384: dark brown with a ruby hue & egg-white head, smell is despite the age an explosion of American, lots of grapefruit & pine, underneath there is a malty & caramely sweetness, taste is bitter but also very fruity including lots of grapefruit but also some grapefruit, berries, pineapple, sweet lemons, caramel malt sweetness buried underneath, bitter aftertaste, pine, I am also getting some sourness in the aftertaste & ome brett, not sure if it is intentional, this is halfway between a barleywine & a IIPA

Bottle from 2009. No head. Dark red.-amber colour. Powefull malty and fruity aroma. Rasin and plumb dominating. No fresh hops left. Light sweet powerfull bitter flavor. Vinius. Batley wine like. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Too flat. Maybe I waited too long.
