12/8/9/8/12/8

Copenhagen Beer Festival. Think I heard this described as a ’Cross between a barleywine and a double IPA’. Cloudy brown beer. Smooth palate. Nicely balanced rich malt and hops with the hops just becoming dominant. Warming finish and a bitterish aftertaste.

Bottle thx HenrikS, cons 2010-12-05, Göteborg BB Dec 2013 Bottle 134! AR: stored porto, roasted malt, a bit peppar, a bit earth tones and perhaps rotten egg reveles after beeing poured after beeing poured. AP: soapy dark brown with reddish tone colored body, wee transpareent and diminshing head F: soap, roasted malt, great long bitterness, pruns, sea salt, raisin, wonder if this one was of (sneaking a bit on the other rates) and seeams so, the alcohol level is evedent. When think about it, it’s getting more and more into shade of an old "jul must"

750 ml bottle shared at daknole’s tasting with the AZ crew. Murky amber color, small white head. Aroma of pine and orange peel. Taste has lots of citrus and resin, full bodied. Nice stuff.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has quite strong notes of hops on a malty background. The flavor has notes of alfa acid and hops combined with malt, leading to a hoppy finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Big thanks to madmitch76 for sending this beauty across the pond. The 750mL, corked, caged and then red waxed bottle has a striking, nay, impressive pour. I see this muddy amber liquid glugging away out of a bright red waxed mouth of the bottle. It is a beautiful sight to be sure. In the glass it has a hazy murky amber body supporting a light tan head. The aroma is a clean mix of pine, musty malts, some raisins and some prunes. The taste has a thick aged maltiness blending into full rounded assertive pine hoppiness that strides smoothly into the finish. This has turned into a wonderful American style barleywine.
