This beer, inspired by the flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine, is a twist on the classic Belgian witbier style. Instead of the traditional coriander and orange peel spicing regimen, we add fresh lemongrass, ginger root, and a dash of Sorachi Ace hops. The result is a wonderfully refreshing ale with notes of lemon candy, citrus fruit, and a slight spiciness from the ginger. Best served at 45˚F in a tulip or wine glass.

One of the better American examples of the style, bright and crisp with lovely banana-clove notes and a ginger-and-basil accented finish. Grass and yeast on the front, then wheaty and semidry in the middle, with a bread-and-basil fade. Smooth, well-carbonated feel, and a nose bursting with floral witbier goodness.

Can 355ml (Beergium)
Hazy orange color, good white head, some lace. Wheaty banana, coriander nose. Light to medium-bodied. Flavour has banana, coriander and notes of lemongrass. Suprisingly I can’t trace Sorachi Ace. Robust witbier.

12oz can. Clear orange with a thin white head that completely fizzed away leaving the beer rather flat. Lemon and coriander aroma, flavour is citrus and black pepper. Dry and refreshing.

Draft at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pale golden color, white foam in moderate amount. Aroma is puzzling: the beer shares some smell typical of sour beers, but can’t identify anything in particular. Body is light, taste reminds of banana, instead. Can’t find the ginger our the lemongrass used for this beer... Bah! -- rated with beerbasher/winphone

Can. Pours hazy straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of grain and yeast, with fruity notes and mild hints of hops. Bitter, mhoppy flavour with notes of yeast and sourish, grainy touches. Bitterish aftertaste with spicy hints. Crispy. Quite reasonable, I should say.

Can, 5%. Mild citric aroma, hint of clove. Cloudy yellow colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour starts off wheaty. Then comes a citric and slightly watery note with a clean medium bitterness. Finishes on a citric and spicy note, probably the lemon grass. Flavourful and refreshing.
