Bottled. A slightly hazy amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits as well as metallic notes of alcohol. The flavor is slightly acidic with notes of brettanomyces, metallic alcohol, berries and lighter notes of caramel and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry bitter and alcoholic finish.

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a fluffy beige foamy head. Aromatic, moderately sweet toast-malty aroma with caramel, cacao and a present herbal hoppy blend. Sweet flavour, full body, well-carbonated, smooth mouthfeel. Solid malty base with roasty accents and liquorice; sweet and lingering malty finish with a pleasant herbal hops presence and a lasting aftertaste of chocolate and liquorice. Well rounded Doppelbock (16.05.07).

Draught at the brewery’s restaurant. Quite sweet aroma, brown sugar, hint of acid. Dark brown colour, seems clear. Big rocky light brown head. The flavour is malty, sweet, vinous. The finish starts out roasted, but seems to disappear after a few sips, leaving a sourish graininess. Too high carbonation.

From bottle, no 11 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours hazy and amber with a fully diminished off-white head. Dry malty and breadish aroma. Flavour holds a slight sweetness and strong flavours of dried fruit. Has a mild malty chocolate smoothness into the finish. This keeps lingering on top of the mild breadish notes. Nice.

Hazy amber color. Aroma of chocolate and of mature malt. Medium-thick body, strong caramel flavor, a hint of hay and honey, quite sweet. Not bad, but somehow not impressive.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Pours a dark, amber golden with a creamy, beige head. Fat aroma of roasted malt and rye bread. Full-bodied with plenty of sweet, roasted malts. Very subdued bitterness. A little low in carbonation. 301107

Bottle: Deep reddish-amber coloured, mid-sized creamy yellowish head; intensive dark-malty and roast-malty nose with traces of fruits and molasses; smooth MF, full bodied, soloid sweet-bitter flavour; first sweet, later chocolatey and more bitter finish, sticking to the tongue. A very pleasant, well balanced Bock.......
