Fat på CBC 2013. Stor maffig humlearom. Men smaken känns väldigt obalanserad. Söt, syrlig, alkohol och märkligt nog lite tunn kropp för att bära all humle och alkohol.

On tap at CBC, pours a golden with a medium beige head. Aroma of stone fruits and booze -- quite a mess. Flavour brings out loads of stone fruits (peaches especially), a big boozy quality, and turpentine. Not well refined at all, with a hugely boozy palate, and too much turpentine / paint thinner. Sorry Surly, but this one is a failure to me. Not good at all.

Sampled @ CBC 2013. Clear rusty amber - orange color, small to medium sized, non lacing, mostly diminishing white to off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty, moderately hoppy, some flowers, oranges and pear. Taste malts, lightly sweet, light to moderately bitter, fruity, lightly hops and quite a lot of alcohol. Medium to full body, fizzy carbonation, moderate to heavy alcoholic finish of average duration.

Golden Orange - minimal head Honey, bourbon, milk duds Very sweet, loaded with honey and bourbon. Some red wine acidity. There’s this intense maltiness balanced by sweet oak and vanilla. It’s a big beer but very approachable. The booze is easy to recognize. The big downside is the very medicine like astringency but that is common with a beer this high of an ABV

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting IV on 10/12/2012. The beer is a bright orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, citrus and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, cedar and piney hops. Fruit in the background. The finish is rich with a spice and malt up front and lingering alcohol. Decent overall.

Autumn Brew Review 2012. Brown color. Strong aroma of alcohol. Flavor has caramel, brown sugar, and more alcohol. A big, boozy beer. I can’t imagine drinking a bomber of this sweet beer with so much alcohol character.
