One of our first beers – Atak Chmielu is an insanely hopped AIPA. Red-copper in color, full-bodied, with a bunch of citrus in taste and aroma. Citrus, floral, resinous, piney, fruity – thanks to the American hops! It has been brewed on 28th of March 2011 for the first time ever and became the very first AIPA brewed in Polish commercial brewery. This is how Polish beer revolution has started!

Ingredients: water, barley malts: pale ale, melanoidin, Carared®, Carapils®; hops (USA): Citra®, Simcoe®, Cascade, Amarillo®; yeast: SafAle™ US-05.

On tap @ Viva la PINTA, Kraków. Clear copper colored with a white head. Hoppy malty aroma with a bitter finish. Nice above par IPA and sadly enough my last one in Poland on this trip. (well, at least the last one I'm rating here, that is)

500mml. bottle as part of a trade with Koelschtrinker, many thanks. Tasted on the 03/10/2018 at home. In short: Slightly caramellish and hoppy. Thin. Some spicy and dankness. Next one please!

On tap at Piw Paw, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Nose brings out light piney hops and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney hops, biscuity malt and light grass. Punchy and piney, with a bitter, somewhat abrasive, finish. Not bad.

500 ml bottle @Zaprava, Sopot. Copper coloured clear body, tiny head and a hint of lacing. Fresh hops to the nose, reflected in taste, but also some sour notes.

Bottle from Pivný raj Wohoo. If this is how craft beer in Poland started my hat down. High bitterness and more than significant hop presence. Bits of sweet caramel close to the end is surprising and well fits the overall structure. Well done. And thank you for waking up Poland from beer routine.

500ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty and fruity, hoppy aroma, rather unspecific frutiness, some citrus fruit, some yellow stone fruit, some tropical fruit. Taste is sweet-ish caramel malty, bitter and fruity hoppy, unspecific fruitiness; oily-watery texture. OK.
