  Stout - Imperial Regular

Unique Imperial Stout. Black, intense and komplex. Well-balanced roasted, fruity and liquorice notes with a mild bitterness and a hint of sweetness. Legendary brew from BFM clocking in at 10.276 % vol. With its ebony colour, a dense coffee flavoured foam, the bouquet incorporates hints of liquorice, Bourbon vanilla, and Sarawak pepper. Dry hopping notes and the use of roasted malts are also perceptible. On the palate, it introduces burly and creamy tastes with developing aromas that are slightly sour, but the finish proves to be long with a subtle tartness that grants this revolutionary Cuvee its ungovernable supremacy.

Bottle. Clear amber body under a small tan head. Aroma has malt, caramel and chocolate. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, hint of coffee and mild bitterness. Balanced body and same aftertaste. Interesting take on the pastry thing with more natural ingrediencies.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, thick, creamy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Minimally soapy, spicy, and slightly roasty dark malty aroma, hints of bath salt, lavender, a touch of cocoa, green chillies, liquorice. Taste is herbal-spicy, bitter, roasty dark malty, hints of chocolate, cocoa, some pepper, a touch of bath salt, lavender, liquorice, floral overtones, some warming alcohol. Creamy and slightly oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Interesting, but also a bit weird spiciness, not much Stout character - meh.

Large, creamy beige head which lasts for quite a few minutes, almost black colour; aroma of dark chocolate, chocolate liqueur, soy sauce, se burnt wood and sour cherry, minimal burnt plum jam and hints of licorice; taste of burnt notes, heavy roadted coffe, dark chocolate, anise, licorice and maybe se dried cherry; considerably underrated

This one has been in the cellar for a couple years. Probably courtesy of wombat23 since that’s where most of my BFM Stock came from, and there’s no German labeling. Virtually black with a creamy beige head that lingers. Vanilla and chocolate aroma. Fairly straightforward. Taste is mildly sweet up front and nuanced—full of vanilla, black tea, herbs and chocolate. The finish is more peppery than bitter, although a mild bitterness is present. Big thick body that covers the alcohol completely. Delicious.

Brownish with foamy head. Mixed flavour with fresh hop bitterness and dark malts. Rather gassy and maybe overly hopped for the style.
