Tap at the brewpub, but as 6.6% (brewver was kind of not so helpful when I tried to enter this as a batch of the base beer, so, hu). Dark. Chocolate, chalky, caramel, cream. Full, dark, roasted, long, dark chocolate, coffee. Not bad.

Jan. ’16. On tap at the brewpub. It poured a dark brown body with a big brownish head atop. Pleasant hoppy aroma, but nothing too strong, roasted malt like coffee and cocoa still prevailed. Lightly bitter flavor both from herbal hop roasted malt contribution. Some fine flavors besides coffee were picked up, like chocolate, cocoa, nuts, dark fruits. Tasty. Medium bodied, also creamy on palate. Finish was long, lightly sweet chocolate and cocoa. Very nice, likely the best in hard competition of their six taps.
By that point, the brewmaster noticed me rating and asked the waitress to share the opinions about the test batch of their new stout with nitro, much lighter and quite inferior to anything on their offer. Supposedly, guests didn’t quite like this one. Really, people? Now, entering the ratings I realize most of their stuff is replaced with new beers, for which I feel a bit sorry, since it easily became my second favorite brewpub in Vienna, inevitable on any future trip there. All beers were clean, well made and problem-free. I can just compliment the brewmaster(s).
