Bottle, backlog March 2015. Clear, dark golden body with a nice, creamy off-white head. Nice citric fruity aroma and some caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by citric fruity hops and light toasted caramel malt. Medium body and average aftertaste. Decent, pretty straight forward but tasty amber.

330 ml bottle, as Aja Aardvark Amber, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Amber colour, large white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts, hints of fruity hops and spicy yeast. The flavour is medium dry with a certain fruitiness (bordering on acidity) and woody notes, more yeasty than desirable. Moderate hops. Won’t buy again.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber colour with a huge creamy beige head. Aroma of fruity hops, caramel, oranges, leather, pine, spices, forest floor and bubble gum. Slightly metallic. Quite bitter flavour of leather, harpix, weeds and some alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel, light to medium body a medium bitterness. A little unbalanced and unsuccessful flavour but the aroma is interesting og nice. More of an English ale rather than Belgian.

Bottle at Stuelands Abothek, Haugesund. My first one from this brewery. Amber with a medium head. Rather soft with malt, caramel and some fruit and hints of spices. Light bitterness and with a lively carbonation.

On tap @ Una as Aardverk. This one has a cloudy deep golden brown colored body with a nice softly lacing eggshell white head on the top. It has a really nice super fruity aroma this! Did not expect it to smell like this. Lots of sweet peach, mango and generic tropical goodness. A hint of red apples also. Not bad, quite fresh. Unfortunately it doesn't really taste all that good. On its path to infection land. It has a lurking sourness, not pleasant at all. Mild oily in the mouth and it's just above average on the creamy carbonation. Sour apples, and quite a lot of them! It's really on the dry side this, almost a little saisonish. Yeast and sour apricots in the finish. Not at all how it smells and not a super successful one either IMO. 23.10.2015
