Segal Ranch Session IPA features Tomahawk, Centennial and Cascade hops that were hand-selected by our Brewmaster exclusively from our friends at Segal Ranch in Yakima, Washington. The verdant pungency and citrus aromatics from Tomahawk hops serve as the perfect base layer to allow the flavors of bright floral and pine sap from Centennial hops to emerge on the palate. Notes of resinous citrus from Segal Ranch’s high-oil Cascade hops shine through the finish.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, consumed at home Sunday at 7th February 2016 Pours hazy orangey colour, a small white head atop. The aroma is a bit cheesy with a leafy edge. Nice furry, fuzziness coats the mouth, mmhhh... This is a bloody good session IPA, good citrus throughout, enjoying this, Loz rates it highly as well. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Mildly hazy gold beer, thin white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and finely crisp. Thin malts, mildly sweet. Nice tangerine hops, bright. Bitterish orange peel. Mild pine and skunk. Light semi dry finish. Mild bitter linger. Clean and drinkable, a punchy little number.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 4/5/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/piney hops and light-moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate piney/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/piney hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitterness, but not bone dry. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and lightly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very good session IPA. All around good compelxity, robustness, and balance of citrus/piney hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Hazy, orange-yellow with a thin head. Herbal, sickly-sweet pine scent. Taste is bitter, grainy and grassy. Watery, but harsh at the same time. Rather dry feeling...just didn’t do much for me.

Smell is vegetable hops. Taste & feel is simply terribly rude viscous mouth coating nastily on style ipa. Why would anybody drink such a nasty beer style without knowing you’re gonna get a buzz. Go figger. Could not enjoy, simply entertains the notion. Does seem to have more of an alky effect compared to many 4.5% session pale ales.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours deep gold with white head. Has a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit. Very piney and bitter flavor with some citrus in the background. Rather one-dimensional. It’s okay.

12 oz. bottle dated: BEST BY 05 APR 16 Pilsner glass A: Clear light orange pours very little head but leaves good lacing. S: Light crisp pine and dry citrus or bitter orange peel. T: More zest than juice but very citrusy. Less piney. A bit of malt on the end. Pretty bitter and not very complex but quite good. M: Very light and crisp body. Good carbonation, refreshing. O: Another good bitter hop monster from GF. I’m on board for an occasional purchase but not every week at $11/6.
