Samuel Adams Rebel Grapefruit IPA is the newest addition to the Rebel family of IPAs, which are brewed to showcase a wide range of hop intensities and characteristics. Rebel Grapefruit is brewed with real grapefruit for a big punch of citrus that amplifies the tropical fruit and citrus notes of one of the Sam Adams brewers’ favorite West Coast hops, Mosaic.

Bottle. Cloudy, peach-colored, gold in color with a two finger head. Taste and aroma had a great deal of grapefruit in them. Not a bad beer.

Bottle: Hazy, deep golden with an orangey sheen, small and stable off-white head, moderate bitter-sweet (grape-)fruity to lemony nose with delicate herbal aromas, too, and a bready-malty background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, both soft and fizzy; lingering bitter-sweet finish with fruity hops and pale malt, mild tardiness in the aftertaste. A likeable brew...

This beer is defined by the interesting way the grapefruit compliments the rest of the beer's elements. The aroma is distinct and contains floral notes. Flavor is complex, grapefruit goes well with the bitterness of the hops.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Citric hoppy aroma with present notes of grapefruit, backed by mildly malty and delicately biscuity accents. Moderately bitter and tart flavour, medium to light bodied with a rather tame carbonation. Dry, slightly malty base with notes of grapefruit juice and lighter drying hops; dry, bitter and tart grapefruity finish. Quite simple but likeable. 30.I.18

12oz bottle from Wegman's, West Seneca. A hazy pale amber pour with a thin white coating; sweet malty aroma with no sign of the grapefruit; there's some sweet grapefruit in the mouth, but the light malty body dominates; but then there is some sweet grapefruit in the finish. This doesn't seem to make it as either a grapefruit beer, or as an IPA. A let down.

A can that is an example of the craft IPA beer brewers riding deh wave and making it rich, heheh. How many IPAs has sammy brewed? Countless? Anyway, pours a cloudy-ish pale beer, active. Big creamy foamy white head. Small is mild grapefruit like citrus under a brittle ipa nose. Taste is big ugly unsweetened juiced whole green grapefruits. What is this new fad? Should it be a fruit beer or an IPA? Mouth coating bitter sappy piney bright IPA. Taste impact makes co2 unperceivable. Yes, terribly on style with a RB plus of bitter grapefruit juice. Not impressed. I guess if you are a fan of IPA, put this in your bucket list, heheheh. You won't forget it.

Bottle at home again trying to will Patriots to win but not looking great. Nice orange amber looking brew. Nose is grapefruit pith and pale malt. Tastes of same light earthy and pine. Subdued and for the rebel name you’d think opposite. Anyways not bad

bottle - Mostly clear gold pour with a citrus hop aroma and noticeable grapefruit. The flavor is nicely bitter with some sweet grainy malt in the background and citrus very up front, especially, as advertised, the grapefruit. There's some pithy character there. While I can enjoy some mild grapefruit character in an IPA, I don't even like grapefruit in general, so this wasn't likely to be a favorite of mine. Still, it's alright.

Bottle in MV. Pours almost entirely clear orange with a moderate, creamy head. The nose holds bright citrusy hops, definitely some inflated grapefruit zest. Light-medium sweet flavour with lots of pithy citrus character, bitter grapefruit juice, background dry, pale malts, pine. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more rindy bitterness, bitter grapefruit pith. A little one-dimensional but not bad.
