Gentse Graaf (The Count of Ghent) is a line of Belgian beers of high fermentation. Besides the traditional blonde and brown beer, Gentse Graaf surprises with a dubbel brown variant, tripels, honey beer and amber beers. This versatility represents the role of Ghent in the County of Flanders. Despite the turbulent history, where periods of war and social uprising and periods of peace and prosperity took turns, the port of Ghent attracted shippers and merchants from all corners of the earth.

Gentse Graaf recalls the atmosphere of the stories that have been told in the shadow of the Gravensteen (Castle of the Counts). Time for your own story: take a Gentse Graaf!

Pours very dark amber / brown. unclear, and the foam is rather small, but very stable and creamy. Smell is weak, to none. Taste is rather bitter, very, very metallic , but in a different way than usual. It’s the sharp taste you get at first when you taste metallic, but it doesn’t develop like usual. It just keeps being this thin, strange, metallic-like taste, on top of the bitterness. Ok carbo and mf. Lack of taste though. Clearly something to be drank fast and in volume. you know, it DOES have a label of Gent, and it’s brown, so it MUST be good - type of beer.
